Pace Capital

Pace is an early stage venture firm.  We practice what I would call high conviction, craft venture capital.  We’ve built a strategy that optimizes for fewer deeper relationships with founders. We only lead financings, typically with checks between $3-$12M, and every investment is a commitment to serve you and the company, at a board level, for the life of the company.  Each GP at Pace (currently GPs are myself and Chris Paik, but that will change in the coming years) invests in ~2 companies per year.  We aren’t trying to scale GP bandwidth, we aren’t trying to scale our AUM, we are trying to develop deep partnerships with a handful of highly aligned founders.  Our first fund, which we closed in June 2019 was $150M.  Pace II, closed in December 2021 is a $250M fund. Joining Chris and I on the investment team is the amazing Tina He, and we are fortunate to collaborate with Laura Hanley and Jenna Julien on ops and finance. We’re a small team by design and always will be.
